Midi Merge Crash

I am having the strangest thing occur...never happened before EVER and I have no idea why it's happening now, but in the current project I have, trying to merge midi on just one track causes my system to lock up requiring a hard reset. I deactivated 'realtime priority mode' and the good news is that the mouse still works while the rest of the system doesn't. I can happily merge midi on all of the other tracks in the project, but this one track causes the crash.

Now, strangely I copied the midi clips to a new track and deleted the old one, then I renamed three instances of the clip to separate names and merged them succesfully, but it did seem to take significantly longer than it should. When I tried with the original track and the original clips, I gave up waiting after 4 minutes and reset it. The CPU meter was flat, no activity at all.

Now I've deactivated 'E to E' and have slightly more success...I've succeeded in managing to merge 2-3 instances together but ti's taking WAY too long - like 30 - 40 seconds to merge 2 or 3 1 bar long midi clips which, quite frankly don't contain that much anyway. It's not hard crashing on me either now, I can CTRL-ALT-DEL it after about 30 seconds.

I'm really puzzled by this behaviour, as you can imagine. I don't have rewire activated and I've never had any other midi problems with T before. The log doesn't tell me anything either.

If anyone else has any suggestions on what the culprit may be, please let me know before I end up wasting my time reinstalling absolutely everything, which may not even solve the problem.

Do these clips have lots of data beyond the start or end? (ie: where they originally long recordings that have been edited down) If so, try the "delete content" button first..
