Good question. Does anyone use reamping?

I go line out - pedals - line in (preamp).
ALL the f**king time mate. I have all the outs on my soundcard going into a little desk so I can mix outboard processors and pedals along with plugins. I use pedals mostly for distortions (sometimes filter and mod effects too), the rest I do in the computer.

Breakbeats through env filters and wahs can be interesting. I have Moog filter and a Dunlop wah, both sound great. Sometimes I'll chain a few up - like a distortion box and filter for acid sounds.

But yes, its always on pre-recorded audio. Sometimes levels and shit can be a pain, but the desk has all the right i/o to handle it. Iv been thinking of getting a proper reamp box though, so I can record DI guitar parts then reamp without to much loss.

Well, you'd have to disconnect or reroute one of the main outs temporarily to do such things.
Alternatively it might be possible to use the digital outs parallely (not sure about that), so you could just get an affordable additional converter to use them for such tasks.

it depends on your software...with AA you can use mutiple cards....so I could run one track's output out my stockcard and loop it into my UA5 (through whatever in betewwen) if I wished to do that...;)

Electro Harmonix Small Stone phaser.
Line6 MM4 Modulation modeler.
Line6 Guitarport.
I bunch of Danelectro minipedals (Octave, chorus, phaser, echo, etc. etc.)

But I don't play guitars. :D

I use them with my synths. Try a software sampler with a string ensemble patch through the Small Stone with the color switch engaged on the left channel, with a delay inserted on the right channel: instant vintage Jean-Michel Jarre pads :D

alienmachine, I also have a line6 pedal, the dl4 (green one, for delays).
has the mm4 the same defect in having a low input level? tailored for guitars, I suppose..
I always friggin' clip using it with other stuff.

I might be too puritan, but for now I don't want any digital stuff in my pedals. I think you can do all that in the computer. Including bit reduction if you want low quality. But cheap analoge circuits seem to do something?!

I've sold all my digital outboard (a lot since I used to have a top-of-the-pops racked midi controlled guitar setup). And a few midi controlled preamps as well. To high fidelity, I guess...

Hello there,

Sorry to hear that. I actually don't have that problem. The levels are OK in mono and stereo. Could be a defective unit?

Cheers,
