i don't know how much support there'd be for this since most stuff is done if 4/4, but...
i wanted to start a piece last night with alternating, repeated bars of 4/4 and 7/8. i was hoping i could just set up two bars like this using the tempo/time change thing and then copy and paste the form multiple times, but no go. instead, i had to settle for using 15/8, but when i do that, tracktion counts the 8th note as the beat, so when you zoom to the "snap resolution: beat" level, if there's a track with the piano roll open, it gets almost completely covered in a black film of little tiny 8th note division lines on the grid. so what would be cool is this:
1) the ability to copy and past within the tempo bar at the top of the screen (if this can be done already, i couldn't figure it out).
2) more control of the resolution of the snap grid so that when using meters like 15/8, it wouldn't switch to "snap resolution: beat" until you get zoomed in a little closer. this way, there'd be fewer 8th note ticks in a given space and it wouldn't cram up the track or make the gui stutter a bit (or completely lock up the computer like it did once last night).
3) more control in the click track. maybe take some ideas from adobe audition's metronome, where you can assign how you want it to click different meters. for instance, if you're doing something in 9/8, you could set it up to accent the 1st, 5th, 8th ticks or the 1st, 4th, 7th ticks or whatever you wanted instead of just accenting the 1st. i guess it's always just possible to make your own click track with a simple drum kit or something, so maybe this really isn't a necessary feature. just thought i'd throw it out there.
feature recommendations: time signature handling, etc.

1) Could be handy, as you've proven!
2) This is already how Tracktion behaves. Snap resolution is entirely dependent on how much you've zoomed. Unless I'm not understanding your request.
3) Again, could be handy! For intricate click tracks, I agree with you that it'd be almost as easy to just program your own, but that doesn't mean this is a totally 'off the wall' request.

you're right. it does change resolutions already, but the problem is when the meter uses 8th notes as the beat, there are twice as many marks on the grid at the first "snap resolution: 1 tick" zoom level as there are when the meter uses quarter notes. this makes the clip cluttered with black lines and makes the software hiccup to have to draw all those lines. give it a shot. take a piece in 4/4 and change the meter to 16/8. then expand a midi clip in the recording and zoom in one level at a time until you get to the "1 tick" resolution.2) This is already how Tracktion behaves. actually, i just looked at this again, and it doesn't seem as big a deal. it only happens with really weird meters and could probably be alleviated if copy and paste were available in the tempo bar.
