Just wondering why deleting edits and files out of a project has to condemn them to utter annihilation, never to be seen again.
Cleaning up a project gets very tense sometimes.
Would it be possible to send them to the recycle bin, just in case? Or is this not possible with how T is programed?
I guess this is a FR.

the send deleted files to the recycle bin is a nice FR!
but if you don't do a permanent delete then they should still be where they where

Yes, I'm unclear about what the problem is! You can clean up a project list without actually deleting the files. In fact, the default is to NOT utterly annhilate them. You have to work at it in order to destroy them. 
Depending on your storage issues, you can always export different edits, instead. It'll take up more space that way, but you'll have a selection of 'streamlined' projects if that's what you want. Myself, I'd rather just keep it all in one archive, but it's another option at least.

I can work with it the way it is now, but I don't see any advantage to permanently wiping files out if they can just be sent to the recycle bin. Just one more level of protection from a mistake while trying to clean up the project file.
Also, is there an option to 'delete all files not being used'

don't delete anything until you're done with a project. then ask your client to buy an external drive to store their files on. this will take the responsibility off of your shoulders.
if it's your stuff. preview any files before deleting to make sure they're not the files that you need to be keeping. it's as simple as that. don't trust your software to do it for you. it does not know what files you like, or dislike.
you'll be safer if you adopt this plan for your file management.

I agree with stoney. This is the default action for Windows, so by proxy should be the default for tracktion. The only other 'option' that tracktion provides is removing the link to the item, which of course just means that you have to do some fairly complicated searching to find it and move or delete it later.
I would like to see a 'recycle bin' or 'trash bin' within Tracktion tho... per project - this would eliminate any potential cross-platform difficulties... I think.
+ some kind of ability to archive 'recycle bin's separately - hence giving the option to keep all those 'bum takes' in case you end up needing them later on.

On the same note... ever start to open a edit and Tracktion ask you if you want open the last saved or some temporary edit? Ever get into a situation where you didn't know which one you should open? In those cases I wish Tracktion allowed you to open the edit of your choice but also allowed you to save the other one in case...

the backups are there AFAIK but with crazy names 
thay just need to be inported in to the project folder
