...so he got it. it's just a stopwatch. that's all. the time on it is saved with your project, you can edit the individual fields if you need to. start. stop. reset. just in case, you can copy/paste values between instances/projects.

Timer v1

This was just an evening's work, but ron has had some good ideas that i think would be worthwhile pursuing, so i may well expand upon this at a later date. for now, however, it shall be a simple VST stopwatch.

just in case you need one, like. ;)

Just curious Ron, what you need it for?

It just gave me an idea though: how about a plug that will clock the total amount of time a particular edit stays open? Then, when you export @16-bit, it could multiply the total by an hourly rate (presets for different clients) and print out an invoice..

:hihi:

Post

no. then we cant lie...shhhhhhhhhh!!!

Post

Well, maybe if we upped the sample-rate it would charge more.. :hyper:

yeah next version hopefully will have client names that we can universally save with a dropdown menu (band1, band2) etc... and then go into each project and call up that client and go from there. then set the hourly rate, and show the money as we go!

for me personally my business is in a small beginning, so i give everyone i record very good deals, such as first recording free, no catch, as well as recording time only is clocked into the hourly rate. I have been gathering clients all around because of these deals. Anyways, I have been using my palm pilot's timer for that, but now its going to work a lot better. hopefully haydxn will add support for time start/stop upon play, record, etc.

btw dbl click on the times to change it.

im not going to say i didnt pay haydxn to help me set this up... ;)

Hey was that it? Cool!

Shame I usually charge for the job, not an hourly rate..

Post

Hay Haydxn, could you make me a plug that does my online banking and pays my bills etc? :hihi:

Post

IIR... cmon.

this can be useful for many things.

Don't take it the wrong way, its a good idea: It just doesn't fit with my current contract.. what I really need is for it calculate my own hourly rate based on what I bid for the job divided by the time I've spent on it: then I would know if I'm paying myself less than minimum wage. :hihi:

Most studios charge by the hour/day. Slow ups could be the client's fault. (When it's the studio's fault you go off the clock)
