Does this work on Receptor? Sounds pretty realistic, so I'm tempted by it...

;-)

Oh, and here's the link for those who haven't checked it out - http://www.artvista.net/Virtual_Grand_Piano.html

Looks like it is using the Kontakt player like Garritan Personal Orchestra. That means that you would need a Receptorized installer so that you can use the Registration tool.

You should post a message in the wish list thread. AFAIK you are the first to ask for it, but if enough people want it we will put it closer to the head of the list.

In the mean time you could consider the Boesendorfer290 from East/West. It's a little more expensive though.

FYI....
The developer from Artvista stated on another forum that he had sent someone from Muse a copy for testing.
I haven't heard it myself, but this is by all accounts a fantastic library.

Thanks for the tip, Phil - how are you getting on with White Grand Jr? I missed the special, but I'm thinking of getting it anyway, as well as Artvista. I'm also upgrading my controller keyboard, and trying to choose between a new Yamaha P90, or a second hand Oberheim (!) M2000 or something (with onboard sounds). Any opinions on either of these? The Oberheim has a few nice controller things (sliders etc) as well as no wall wart (grrr), so I'm surprised to be leaning towards that - a mate is offering it to me fairly cheaply.

I like the White Grand Jr. quite a bit.
For starters....it fits in RAM, so no worrying about DFD. It also sounds good in mono - which is not true for many other libraries.
When I first got it, it didn't play well - the dynamics were weird. I'm guessing that this was due to using Konpakt vs. Kontakt. I spent a bunch of time tweaking the patch though, and now it is very expressive. If you purchase the library let me know and I will send you my tweaks.
I'm using a Yamaha P200 for a controller now. I decided to keep a digital piano in the mix for 2 reasons. 1...if Receptor goes down, I can just plug in and go. 2...I can switch to the Yammie for a song while Receptor is changing from White Grand to a Scarbee library, or whtever. I have a midi solutions
processor that enables me to maximize the few controller features that the digital piano has.

Yeah, that's why I want a digital piano with onboard sounds too. I'll probably get something like the midi solutions if I go the Yamaha route - thanks for your POV!

please get this working! I will probably buy a receptor if this software works correctly..

I have it right here on my desk. We are alredy very busy so we will not be able to get to it right away. But, it won't be too long either until we have some news. I too am very curious as to how it sounds and how well it performs.

i have both the artvista virtual grand and the malmsjo piano(special deal) on my p.c., i know that doesn't help answer your question but they are both very nice and worth the purchase.
