Okay, I created a rack filter, which popped up a window. Now how do I get the window to go away?

Problem is the rack is gone. Right after creating the rack, and toying around with it, I clicked "Undo". I wasn't happy with the rack filter, so I wanted to get rid of it. There is now no rack to click on. Yet the window is still there. I can't get rid of it. Sounds like maybe this is a bug?

Click the "Racks" button in the upper right corner to show/hide the rack filter window (or as mentioned CTRL-G).

If it's not that, then it's not clear what you are attempting to describe.
