well, in my own taste, i really do prefer frontal view.
but the interface is still clear and readable.

'Analog delay model', does that mean that the higher frequencies do not get any effect (or little) as the old hardware alalog delays did?Crandall1 wrote:
Now available at the Audio Damage site. You know you want it!
» 4ms to 2000ms delay time.
» Accurate analog delay model that changes the pitch of the signal when the time is changed.
» Sync-to-host capable
» Full MIDI learn mode, for MIDI CC control of every control (VST only; handled by host in AU version)
» Loop and reverse features
» Low-cut filter controllable for extra dubby feedback
Will like to hear some more demos, horns would be nice to hear also.
The loop function is a big plus.

Yes, that's correct. The longer the delay time, the less high frequency gets through. We used the Blacet Time Machine (an actual analog delay currently available) as our model in this regard. This unit sounds closest to that or the MoogerFooger.
We'll have another (much better) audio demo up tonight. Our demo guy wasn't available, so I just threw that one together, and I'm not as good at those short songs as he is. (He makes music for commercials for a living.)

We do have a product that has that, Ronin. (Being fully modular, you can, of course, do whatever the hell you want with it.) DubStation is a subset of the Ronin kit, "tuned," if you will, to act like an analog delay.
It should be noted that it has Butterworth filters, whereas Ronin has 2P state-variable filters, so the sound is a bit different, but not so much as anyone would notice.

HI
I wasn't questioning your integrity - I simply prefer to demo a program to see if it will suit me.
I would feel almost guilty (if I was to ) ask for my money back!
Flipper.

Chris, i'd like to buy this as soon as i have the spare coin. Just bought an FMR RNLA, trying to scrounge up a few bills for the Yamaha i88x, and i got a new set of tires! ha! but, the DubStation is next on the list, without a doubt.
The graphics are great, and anyone who says otherwise can suck an egg.
Its a f**king DUB DELAY, not a SuperNova. And in the spirit of the effect itself, the interface should be lo-fi yet kitchy. I think you've accomplished that well, sorry there are people who don't agree with that but considering their sophomoric complaints, you wouldn't get their money anyway. I mean who complains about the price and no-demo version of a $39 plug with a 100% money-back guarantee?
People who don't care about how shit sounds, and don't want to even TRY to better their collection of tools.
thats who.
cheers

Well, I just gave this thing a work out, and I have to say that it is absolutely brilliant! It's exactly what I was looking for, and I can already see that it is on its way to being my favorite delay plug-in. I have the Blacet Time Machine on which it was modeled, and I actually kinda like this a bit more. For one, I don't have to patch my Motu out to the Blacet in order to use it, and well, I only have the one Time Machine, so using that on more than a single track was not possible. As always, Audio Damage have tapped into my favorite era of hardware effects for inspiration.
Let the naysayers balk. Hell, I'd rather have this plug all to myself anyhow. Time to go give my vocals the "Alan Vega treatment"!

I'm surprised at all the flame here to be honest. Considering the time that goes in $39 is a drop in the ocean. . but what do I know
. I'll admit to finding the gui a bit . . . well different, but the more I see it , the more it grows on me. For very knob intensive gui's you need to be very careful of layout and workflow , beyond making it easy to understand, but with something this size it gives it a cool look and a bit of character. Think 'Beta bugs' . There might be no demo but there is audio demos. With a moneyback guarantee theres nothing to lose apart from maybe not whating to give it back

It does seem to be nice from the things that people are saying in this thread, and I would like to have some sort of massive delay, but if i cant see what it is like, then, sorry - no can do

Welcome to the real world. Demos serve several purposes, compatibility with one's host of choice being just one. Being able to hear what a plugin does prior to purchase being another.adamjay wrote:I mean who complains about the price and no-demo version of a $39 plug with a 100% money-back guarantee?

Despite the low price of a plugin, you don't exactly buy a house or a car first and then get to see your purchase and try it out for the first time?
Altough I can understand to a degree the policy about "no demos to prevent piracy", I don't really agree with it. Checking out on the net shows that almost every one of their products have been pirated (which in itself isn't anything other than statistical information), though I have to admit that I didn't time to check out which products are available as demo versions to draw any conclusions between these two issues.
Anyways... a lot of people want to be able to try out things before paying for them, no matter if there's a money back guarantee like in this case. It's just how the market works. I'm not able to say how this "no demo" policy affects Audio Damage's business, but nonetheless, people are expecting a tryout version to make up their minds about a purchase. Catering for the market needs is usually a way to succeed businesswise, or so I've been told.
Regards,
JMH
