I don't know if anyone has seen these decals / stickers that you can buy from this company but maybe we should lobby them for a Tracktion 2 version, too? I know they'd help me learn T2 a lot faster. :)

That could be cool for us typomatically challenged. Although this quote has me a bit unnerved:
"Editors Keys are used by designers and editors at some of the worlds most prestigious companies including Universal Studios, The BBC,.. MTV, ITV and Fox Network. All these companies have won global recognition for professional productions."

Shouldn't it read:
"Editors Keys are used by the forgetful designers and editors at..."

Yeah, djsubject, I'm not fond of USB Keyboards either. I like to spear mine from time to time.

This is a daft idea - you'd need a separate keyboard for each piece of software you run.

What you *really* want is one of these - http://www.artlebedev.com/portfolio/optimus/

It'll cost an arm and a leg though, and according to two interviews they hadn't even thought of the internal stuff (like how they will transfer the data to the displays) when that design was released... not that such trivial things matter ;)

"300 USD is highly optimistic. 400 USD is optimistic." :D

Either way, I'll get one when it gets released - it's the software that allows you to configure it as you see fit, especially if they go the whole hog and allow macros etc. that appeals to me that much.

In the meantime, Ergodex DX-1will materialize itself on my table one day.

Yeah, I suppose you could make your own but they're only a few bucks and probably nicer looking than what I could make. Just thought it might help. I'd rather learn the stock key mappings. I've used masking tape on my MIDI stuff but wouldn't do that for my QWERTY. I dunno... just thought it would be nice.

I remember a time I tried to use a co-workers CAD station and he had the whole thing changed around. I couldn't figure out how to do anything!

It's easy for me to imagine a large company using those decals. I'm sure that it brings people up to speed quicker. Think about it.... what if all our QWERTY keyboards were blank? It would take longer to learn how to type. I know that labelling my keyboard with scales helped me learn piano. I have no shame in looking something up.

I dunno, I thought it would help bring people up to speed faster. That's all. Maybe I'll buy an extra keyboard and paint some of my own keys. :) The nice thing about USB keyboards is you can daisy chain them! :hihi: 127 of them, I think!

Wow! That's SWEET! I like that a lot! Not as cheap as stickers, though! :hihi:
