Yes, cool stuff, Donovan.
So I got it, too. Despite it being built out of Ronin, it's a very different experience using it. Especially the way the signal is setup to degrade at long delay times. The function limitations actually lend themselves well to more flipping about with the controls. Very fun little thing.

where? I want one at that price...sinkmusic wrote: well, with 29,99$ for the ratshack, you can afford two real ones on ebay !
I don't know if it sounds the same (there is no demo !), but it is twice the price, imo... !

Well there's a slightly more advanced version here that's only at one pound with 9 days to go. Granted shipping will probably cost more than it is worth.pw wrote:where? I want one at that price...

What?Sicklecell666 wrote:A little something I did goofing around a few minutes ago; all FX are Audiodamage..Nothing fancy, just a bit of dark ambience, which Audiodamage effects are killer for..
Signal path is:
Cameleon 5000 (no internal fx -> Discord (Murky echos preset) -> DubStation (Midi-Mod preset with delay time modulated by NicFit's LFO plug) -> Deverb (Mr Smoothy preset)
Damaged Goods
Delay time modulation is squeeky clean with no zippering whatsoever..

What's that please? I hear merely a brunch of noises and undefined sweaping.
Sounds also quite distorted to me. Like recorded from a hell cheap 8bit machine.
I am interested in the pitch shifter thingy. But I really cannot get any information, which gives me the proove of "I like it". I expect some examples of shifting some *different material* +-12 semitones continuous up and down. Pre and post samples please. That would actually help for a decision.
- are the parameters interpolated?
- are the pich shifting artifacts pleasing?
- how is the entire tonal quality?
- does it always "lofy" the audio input?
By the way, 39$ is quite much for a simple delay based pitch shifter. At least too much for a "cat in a bag".

000 - discord isn't a clean sounding shifter but, then again, it's not meant to be (the devs describe it as "vintage style"). 1.5 is definitely cleaner sounding than 1.0, but neither version will replace a Harmoniser or Melodyne, say. However, it is an excellent and useful effect with loads of interesting possibilities...

Thanks. What me interests is even *that* vintage sound. I don't look for a clean sounding pitch shifter (because I know how to write that myself).
I want the magic of the vintage sound and some demo examples convincing me by the authenticity of that effect.
They claim to have perfectly remodeled it...
- is there the typical glitching of the original?
- Is there the typical sound degradation (pitching noise) of the original?
- ist the performance behaviour even the same as on the original?
- and so on

OK, well here you go: a quick demo of Discord.000 wrote:I want the magic of the vintage sound and some demo examples convincing me by the authenticity of that effect.

(I should note that the voice comes from AT&T's TTS demo, so she's a bit robo-techno-raspy to start with. All sounds are just a voice sample through Discord.)
