I'm dying to see/hear what the new product is like...or read about it. :) I'm licking my "chops" (npi). *wink* *wink*

If it's something close to REX files...or able to import REX files...I would love you to death...I have TONS of REX files (mostly drums). :)

I'd like to see something like EW Stormdrum only made to work as an expansion for ST2. Maybe I'm wishful here, and the GB for Storm makes it nice but I have decided I need the Miroslav more so I'll have to pass and hope squids might do something like Stormdrum in the near future. :D

The improved engine of ST2.1 might make that kind of library work like a killer.

Well... let's just say that if you are a little bit patient there is something coming from us that will do more things along those lines. The Smilus THX will be coming soon. :) :D
sounds cool. I gotta be a little patient anyway. I already spent $4000 this year, so I gotta get some rest and time to breathe anyway. Plus I havent't really had the time to really play with all the new gimmicks.
I though the VST title would not be Smilus THX, but maybe Squids Beats. :D

I would look forward to it whatever it's called ... I have had a lot of fun layering the rhythm loops that come with ST XL, playing with effects and panning, etc.

I hope that if esoundz actually does something like this, they will have the individual rhythm lines mapped as well as the presumably cool composite loops

strange that Squids ran out of hints and teases in mid-June -- it's just not like him! ;)

but I know they have had a pretty full product-launch schedule this year

Sounds like a nice set up!

hmmm....I guess the name will fall into the recent trend of ending the products in "ik", soooo:

Beatnik - The Jack Kerouac of VSTi's ;)

"Sputnik" is probably still available, but no idea what kind of product that would be

The onboard CSR reverb is nice on miroslov philhamonik.

But when i use Miroslav i prefer run an instance of 'Plate 140' on my UAD-1 with the 'Orchestra plate' preset set around 40 to 50% wet it just sounds lightyears better

Post

Yeah, the UAD plate is cool. More of an esoteric thing perhaps but I like that.

Although I like the Plate140 as well, I never really understood why there's so many people raving about it. I found it really good, but not that much outstanding.

Hmmm, what's the ETA supposed to be? Otherwise I might be tempted to go for GURU which looks like a good tool to import loops like the ones from the Groove Capsule.

i agree when i first got the plate 140 i wasn't impressed and wondered what all the fuss was about , but after using it for a while tweeking it here and there it has certainly turned into my #1 'Go to reverb'

Pardon me for asking this if it has allready been asked. But how does the CSR 1 Reverb compare to the ahem competitor ArtsAcoustic Reverb, ( already got that so you do not risk loosing a future costummer to a competitor ), I am asking because I might want to put it on my future wishlist, as reverb is one of my favourite things in music making. How does it compare in Cpu use, and the kinds of reverbs it can make.

you couldn't compare yet as the CSR 1 hasn't been released.

The CSR you get onboard with miroslav philharmonik only has one specially made preset for orchestra use and only has 5 controls time/color/density/size/wetdry , so you couldn't compare it to ArtsAcoustic Reverb until the full version is released
