I have done this in the past.
I have been trying to export the midi from a song I am working on.
The export seems to work. The midi file appears in the project folder.
The problem is that it will not import. The file shows up on the project page but I can't get it into an edit.
I have a project that is just midi files that contains edits that are one midi song each.
i dragged the midi file from the project page into these edits in the past and the midi appeared in the edit.
Now when I drag the midi file, the edit opens and nothing happens.
I cant even get the old midi project to drop existing midi files into an edit. These are files that I have used in the past.
what could have changed that is keeping midi from importing?

Have you tried other ways to import, eg: dragging & dropping from the desktop, or using the import dialogue?

OK. I have it working.
I am using T1. I havn't exported midi in ages. I found that I had to remove all of the plugins to get it to export.
I made a copy of the edit and deleted all plugins and it worked.

Hmn, you shouldn't need to do that.
I think there's an option that allows you to "pass midi through filters" or something like that which means that you shouldn't have to delete the plugins in order to export a MIDI file correctly.
Can't remember whether this option is in T1.

No, it exists in T1, but doesn't seem to work.
Also, I had to export each track seperarly. When I tried to export the entire song it put every track into one track. How are we supposed to use that? Does T2 do propper export by putting each track on it's own track?

Set each track to a different midi channel before you export (clip properties)
