Ok, I've recently switched over to Traktion from Logic Audio 5.5 to do all of my tracking (and some mixing). I got the free version that came with my new Echo Layla 3G. The problem I encounter (every session) is that the audio starts doing this garbled/robotic sound and I can hear the hard drive accessing. Once I go to the settings tab and hit "restart device" it goes away, only to rear it's ugly head again later.
What seems to trigger this are: enabling/adjusting vst's during playback, quick edits (ie jumpbacks), or occasionally sliding recorded tracks to different locations.
My settings are as follows:
- 88.2 sample rate (Nyquist Theorem - I'm tracking a full album and want everything to come out copasetic in the downsample to 44.1)
- 256 on the buffers (2.9ms)
- ASIO direct selected
My CPU is 3.0 gHz P4, 1.5 gig of ram, so no probs there. Any ideas hombres?
Constantly restarting device in Traktion 1.6 (Echo Layla 3G)

Hi,
I've had the same problem few months ago, with the same soundcard.
I had 2 hard drives on my PC, the first with softwares and the second only for my music. The second was recognised by windows XP when plugged but not declared in the BIOS, that was the reason why Tracktion made this stupid noise. So what I did was to make the BIOS recognise my second hard disk and since then everything is fine
Hope this helps.
A+
