Midi controller madness. :help:

Ok here's the story for those of you with this controller. I assigned all of the bottom 24 buttons in preset 1 as volume faders in T2 tracks 1-24. Then on preset 8 I set the same buttons up as pan faders tracks 1-24. I then Copied these to presets 15 and 16.... the idea being i can now control volume on any track - click over the preset one button and control pan on the same fader dial. Works fine so far...

except.. now when i use a volume fader on track 1 in presets 15 or one, track 5's pan fader starts moving about in concert with it... ditto for other tracks and other buttons...

please don't tell me that i am doing something really stupid cos i already know that...,

any ideas what i might be doing wrong or how to get around this problem?

cheers

OK i am beginning to see my problem, but not an obvious way around this.

1. I used the bottome 24 dials on teh BCR on presets 1 for volume faders and also used the same 24 dials on preset 2 for pan faders.

2. Whats happening it appears is that on preset 1 (which i want to use simply for volume on track 1), tracktion recognises this as "controller 81 general purpose button 2".

3. When i switch to preset 2 and start to set dials for panning, the dial for track five is also recognised as the the same thing - controller 81, even though ths is not the same dial as in preset 1.

4. The result is that when i try to use the dial 1 on preset 1 to move the volume fader on track 1 trackion reads this correctly for track 1, but also reads it as a signal to track 5 to change the pan fader....

Does this make sense, if not i will try to re explain.

For those able to read my gibberish is there sny way around this as this set up would make my mixing life soooo much better. It should allow me to mix vol and pan for 24 tracks with ease.

has anyone else haed the same or similar probs?

thanks

it seems your two presets have some rotery controlles set to the same midi msg,

you can set this from within the bcr2000 so none of them give out the same midi data

hope this is the info you need
