how assign midi channels

maybe this is a stupid question, but everyone has to start somewhere..
I've got a VSTi (in this case garritan PO) that is multitimbral for 8 channels. So on track 1 I want to play for example a violin. On track 2 a trumpet and so on until I've got 8 tracks.
How do i set up something like this? Now I open in each track GPO anew and but I don't use the multitimbral mode in this way. If I load in track 1 GPO and assign 8 instruments in GPO, how can I play them in track 2,3 ....8? Must be possible but I don't find it.
Can someone advise me please? Thanks!

Insert GPO on a track as normal.

Now, for each new part, create a new track and route it to the GPO track.

You can set the MIDI channel in the properties for the MIDI input (for real-time playback & recording) or in the properties for a MIDI clip (for already recorded parts)
