I've developed a VST plugin for use in tracktion that allows to take a given midi command and convert / map it to 2 midi commands. My reason for this was to simplify the creation of bass lines and melody lines with drum sampler / groove slicer plugins such SR202, DS404, etc. where upon seeing a program change for example, this could be mapped to midi note in order to select the relevant drum pad / slice and the original key value from the midi note used in the Controller Code which manipulates the pitch of the drum pad / slice and therefore write these bass/melody lines using the the piano roll/note functionality in the midi editor rather than the controller functionality.

The problem that I've noticed is that every time I select a preset, even though the names of the presets appear correctly in the preset list the currently selected preset always appears as "(unnamed)". Any ideas ?

not that I'm a developer, but if you stated what this plug-in was developed in I.E.; juice, SE, SM, C++ blah blah maby some of the smart asses here could offer some advice

it was developed using Visual C++ and the VST SDK, nothing else.
