I'm interested the "Ethnic and Folk Instruments" AKAI volume, but I'm finding it hard to work out from the description exactly what is contained on the disc.
[edit - I pasted the wrong URL. Should've been this one: http://www.backintimerecords.de/bitr019.htm ]
I know that "Inhalt" is contents. But there are other instruments listed in the text seperately and I don't know whether this is all on the one CD?
Do the wind instruments have a single sustained sample, or are there variations like staccato as well?

Your link is going to Best Service and I can´t tell you anything about their sample libraries, only about our libraries.
You can find our Ethnic sample libraries here http://www.backintimerecords.de/bitr019.htm and here http://www.backintimerecords.de/bitr010.htm . If you have any questions about them, let me know.

Haha, sorry, I was answering a post over on LoopTalk and someone was asking about choir libraries. I must've had the wrong item in my clipboard when I pasted the URL!
The page I was trying to link to was, indeed, this one: http://www.backintimerecords.de/bitr019.htm
Just wanted to know:
1 - Are there different articulations per instrument (e.g., pan flute - sustained note, and stoccato 'one short hit' note)?
2 - I don't see "Althorn" or "Chimes" in the Inhalt or contents paragraph. Everything on that page is on the CD, yes?
Thanks.

Yes, there are always various articulations for the most instruments, sometimes different models or used strings (Buzouki, Mandolin). The Darbuka comes with a lot of different hits (positions, intensity, flam, etc.) In case of the Panflute the library provides following (multisampled) types: Panflute straight, Panflute noisy attack, Panflute noisy with Tremolo. The listed content on the website isn´t the full instrument listing, but if you want we can send you a full PDF with all instruments, variations including their MB sizes and if they´re stereo or mono. Send your mail to info@backintimerecords.de and our sales manager Julia will submit the PDF right away.ceenda wrote:Just wanted to know:
