OK, this weekend I finally got around to trying the new automation controller stuff. Easy-peasy: bring up the dialog, move a knob or slider, select a parameter, and bam! I'm dub mixing drums using Bionic delay feedback and mix with sliders on my PCR-30. Love it. Just had to share.

Oh yeah, I also set up a rack with Floorfish to only allow the loudest snare hits through and sent them to T's native reverb (the whole track got sent to the output too) and then set up the reverb mix to be controlled by my PCR-30 so I can make the snare do the dub explosion thing whenever I want. BRILLIANT.

I realize I'm coming off a bit giddy -- cuz I am. If anyone's interested in this rack set up, I can post a screenshot. (I realize this is simple stuff, but it might help some folks who are just discovering the power of the rack.
)

You know, in dub when a loud snare hit is so slathered in reverb and/or delay that it sounds like an explosion. Listen to some Lee "Scratch" Perry for plenty of examples.

Dunno about best... but I did quite a lot of reading on the various options and I ended up going with the Edirol PCR-30. For around $150 I'm totally happy with it, but then I'm not really doing a whole lot with it (plunking some piano parts, triggering some percussion samples, and, of course, controller VST(i) parameters in Tracktionboogooloo1 wrote:Speaking of, can I get a consensus on which controller is best?
