... have muli-core cpu support.
(For eXT it seems to be in beta version)
Any official information about this in Tracktion ?
(I have a mispleasant feeling to use the host that evolves the slowest.)

no, just not-so-recently disgruntled users...
Are multi-core processors/systems really that popular thesedays? My motherboard is multi-core capable and I'm thinking of going to a dual-core processor, though from what I gather on the eXT and Podium multicore tests, improvement was about 30%?
How does that really work out in performance terms? Extra tracks? More polyphony? Is it really that noticeably in practice?

I've been using Tracktion for 2 years and a half.
I love Tracktion and it's my only host.
But yes i find it evolves very slowly. In the first half of 2003 a big new feature arrived each month.
I would be glad to see some of these features
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=82584
implemented from time to time with new version.
I've just bought a Athlon X2 3800. That's why i wanted to have some info.
Tracktion WILL support multi-core CPU (every music/video software will). It's a matter of time.
I would preffer to see it sooner...
For me that means more effect, more instuments, more polyphony and faster rendering.

did you consider alternatives? When your frustration has reached a critical point you probably shouldIxox wrote:I've been using Tracktion for 2 years and a half.

it's more important to understand than to judge - we will always fail at the latter without the former
good one
can i still just pretend your a troll?

The real time rendering process use clearly one core.
I've just noticed that the "off-line" rendering process in Tracktion use the 2 cores of my CPU.
But why do the sum is 100% of the whole (could be up to 200%)?
One core works at 60% and the other at 40%....
I haven't reached this point...
