I batch converted Post pianos Old Lady to 16 bit.
The LE preset now fits into RAM on Receptor.( So no DFD)
It is, in a word, stunning. It will now be my piano for solo gigs.

Yeah, fairly so....I wouldn't use it in a rock band context - although the upper register is pretty bright so I might try it sometime.. I think I'd stick with White Grand Jr. for band use.
But....now that I think about it...
What the Old Lady DOESN'T have, which most sampled pianos seem to, is an overbearing "thunky" quality to the midrange. It also is not overly ambient, which is another problem I have with alot of sampled pianos for ensemble use.
It also sounds nice in mono.

Phil, how much RAM do you have, and how much does the piano require?

I have 2 GB.
I'm not sure what this particular piano is taking up. I'll try to remember to check for you.
One (but not the only) reason I'm so eager to have K2 running on Receptor is so I can customize more pianos....ie...I could make 73 key versions, or only use DFD on the release samples, or use convolution for the sustains instead of a whole seperate sample set, etc. Kompakt won't read .nki's created by Kontakt 2...

This might seem like a joke, but I was playing around some multi's I did and came across a piano one. It sounded pretty good, and found out it was the MDA Piano. While it may not stack up to the other sample sets, it still sounds pretty good and you can do full sustain and poly on it. Not bad at all!!
