Umm, I mean, all examples like a kettle boiling, and otherwise disturbing a rousing rendition of your anthem.fritzman wrote:P.S. BTW, what did you mean? I simply didn't understand you. Sorry, I'm german.mandolarian wrote:Fritz - your kettle is boiling over. Time for tea.
What are the best filters you have heard??

Ah thanx,
yes, it was eh ... a serious joke. It's even my recording of the german anthem so on this side I'm serious. But the filter thing is not soooo serious. At full resonance in a rediculous situation they all sound not so good. But that's just my opinion. Best filter ever heard? One of those? Maybe ...
Best wishes, FRitz

They all sound terrible. But that's the great thing about filters. They take a perfectly good sound and screw it up. Yet screw it up differently.

man, I totally forgot to give you some feedback on this.
It's really cool. Still not my favourite filter but interesting what you did with it. The filter FM sounds good.

Challenge accepted. Now please do that with a Yamaha DX 7, ok?;-) wrote:Something similar probably can be produced with a digital 80's FM synthesis synthesizer.bmanic wrote:Well, here is my original fabfilter volcano demo that got critizised like crazy everywhere, so it must suck..

That's the worst sounding digital noise I heared so far coming out of a filter (at least 90 percent in that sound sample).

Which ever you want to use. Heck, you can use a SY 77 or 99 too if you want as long as you use the FM part. I'm expecting a .mp3 done on a fm synth in 15 minutes, as that's how long it took for me to do that example (including turning the computer on, starting fl studio and pressing record).;-) wrote:Or a TX series synth. Thanks. Had real fun tweaking that thing the first time. One day I'll try to setup a nice 'live' environment in EnergyXT and try recording a whole complex tune in one pass, a little like Mr. Solida is doing with his modular all the time. It's immense fun!fritzman wrote: Hi bmanic,

Thanx bmanic, bmanic wrote:Oh, btw fritzman, those examples of yours are hilarious! Good idea!
EDIT: I like FilterB the best btw. You're so wonderfully off tune there

it's so easy to get so over-serious about this stuff. Nobody has to like what I like. Nobody has to do it the way I do.
And yes, I re-recorded some of the other examples but I did let FilterB the one that's the most out of tune.
All filters are mouse played by the way.
All the best, FRitz

OK, not exactly a DX/TX synthesizer, but another (dual) filter, half manually tweaked, half random sequenced. Sounds different too. DXish even.bmanic wrote:Which ever you want to use. Custom Ihsan Filter, not quite 6/12/18/24 dB, but a hybrid...
Distorted for your pleasure.
What's also interesting about this one, is that it only has the phase cost of a 6dB filter.
