Pop Brass Ensembles

Hello Muser's,
I'm posting this here because I need this for my Receptor.
I'm looking for a 'Known To Work' instrument that has really good quality Pop-Brass patches.
Not just separate Saxes, Trumpets, Bones etc., but some really good combos that would be appropriate for pop-rock tunes.
As an example, the ones that shipped with Kompact don't cut it.
Thanks,

Does Kontakt work with Receptor? If so, you might want to check out First Call Horns:

Hi,
don't know if this is usable for Receptor, but I bought the Pop Brass CD from ProSamples Series and it really sounds great!

Hey Dan,
I may re-consider Colossus ~ does it run fairly efficiently regarding CPU usage?
I'm finding Kompact, for example, takes longer to load and seems to be slightly more taxing on the CPU than most of the other plug-ins (that shipped with Receptor)
I'm thinking it's a Native Instruments thing...
I'm not even sure about DFD anymore; I'll likely post a separate topic about that soon.
NOTHING runs more efficiently than Atmosphere!
I wish everyone would get their plug-ins as together.
Anyway, Colossus is expensive, so I'd love hear from anyone using it on Receptor now, specifically regarding load-time and CPU.
Thanks,

I don't find Colossus particularly slow, but it is not very fast either. It is definitely not worse than Kompakt, since it is using the same technology, but newer code. I cannot tell if it's faster than Kompakt since it is using different samples. I hope that someone that uses it every day will chime in. I use it rarely because I'm too busy with programming.
One thing I can tell you is that the samples are outstanding. From that point of view it is worth every penny.

Has anyone used any particular sample libraries, like Pro Samples, and has imported them into Kompact, with good results?
Am I relatively alone in the need for realistic sounding pop brass patches?
What do you folks do for these?

Just wanted to say that I have Colossus and it works pretty smooth, but I don´t think that the pop brass ensembles will fill your needs, they are among the weakest part of the library, not awful, but not in first call horns-class either. The rest of the library is wonderful though.

Quantum Leap Brass,
5 CDs of exactly what you described. I've relied on them for a long time already.
They're (at least) akai format so you should get painless import to pretty much anything.
