I know this has probably been covered a million times but I need help.

When trying to take an archive from my machine (PC running XP Home) to my friends (Mac running OSX) some of the wave files do not open in his session. The missing files are a combination of tracks I have recorded and wave samples that were imported into my session. I save the project to a single directory that I think should include all the data from the song.

Thanks in advance for the help.

One of a few different things could be going on:

1. When you first imported wave samples into your session, you did NOT choose to "make a local copy", which means that while your session uses it, the media still resides wherever it was when you browsed to it.

2. I could be wrong about this, because the word "library" is funny-- but perhaps you did NOT choose to include media from the library?

3. For whatever reason, his MAC doesn't like your .wav files.

In the string of trouble-shooting, you need to look at HIS directory where you unpacked the edit, and see if all the media files are, in fact, supposedly there.

If they are NOT there, you need to review all the checkboxes when you export the edit.

If they ARE supposedly there, you might need to manually direct his edit to the appropriate source file (there will be a clip that says, "source file missing" in the edit, still. Press the 'search for lost material' button and find the right file.

If it's #3, it won't want to load the file regardless. Then it becomes a bug to report to Mackie/Raw Materials.
