You're not an idiot, but unfortunately you ARE out of luck-- the colour scheme feature is new to T2.

Never quite got done with this because I got annoyed that you can't have a totally black background... I think I never got around to messing with the MIDI editor. A few of the text items are a little tough to read. Still think it's pretty cool and most the hard to read items don't bug me, but it does help knowing where everythings is.
