They are weird these IK folks.

If I had a product being released in the near future and it supposedly sounded good, you bet I'd want people to be aware. My expectations are not that great since there has been no news of AT2 since January's NAMM.
When something is being worked on it is hard to tell when it will be finished. I am not saying it is coming soon so you are swayed any particular way. It will be here when it is here. If you need something sooner I recommend getting AmpliTube 1 and then the upgrade to AT2 later anyway... you kind of get AT1 for practically free that way btw.

Anyway, it was incredibly impressive at NAMM with just the preliminary version and if you look at the ads and see what is in it I don't know why anyone's expectations wouldn't be great. AmpliTube 2 is one of the coolest effects plug-ins I have ever seen. It has models of so many of my favorite amps and stomp boxes. The CE1, the phase 90/100, Dynacomp, Tube Screamer, Fuzzface...Fenders, Marshalls, Voxes, Mesa Boogie yummy!

It's not just good it is like no other digital emulation I have ever heard. For those that know me I talk highly but don't hype this hard unless there is something really special about it. There are certain methods used for emulating the saturation that I've never heard except in the real amps. A real animated CRUNCH sound. Let's put it this way. I have had a nice collection of Voxes and Fenders and for any serious recording I would break them out with a nice 57 any day (and still would). But, AmpliTube 2 is finally something that I would feel like I really don't have to do that. I am confident I could do a track and some producers and engineers I know (picky ones too... analog freaks) wouldn't know the difference. In fact, I think I might do that to someone like Jack Joselph Puig (perfect candidate) just to prove to myself that I can fool him (he produced Black Crowes, Belly, Goo Goo Dolls, Jellyfish... and loves his vintage gear!).

I cannot imagine anyone not wanting AmpliTube 2 that does rock music (or any style that would use vintage amps and pedals). Don't worry. I may get involved in some demos with it and I will surely show some A/B comparisons that will rock your socks off! :!: ;)

I WANT IT YESTERDAY! I already bought Amplitube1 for 299$ and I will get Amplitube2 for FREE...MOuahahahahahahahah.

What would be nice is an guitar to PC interface like the Waves/PRS Interface that comes with GTR Waves. http://www.waves.com/content.asp?id=1688
An electric guitar produces a high impedance signal with an extremely wide range of frequencies and dynamics, while recording systems rarely offer guitar-compatible inputs. This mismatch isn’t addressed by most amp modeling solutions, and the result can be an irretrievable tone loss before the signal can even be processed.
I think they're right!

Squids I'll actually be at AES, and you better have something cool for me to see/hear or else! :x

I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

No Thanks

We want a choice to use what ever we like.
My PC interface is far superior to any PRS interface or any other interface that will be bundled with software. So I don't want it let alone pay for it.
(you know, nothing is really free)
