record everything at high bitrate
You recording MP3s are you? That'll be why it sounds dull.

Bit-depth people, bit-bloody-depth, not bit-rate.

Assuming you're quoting me, it was an error. It is indeed Bit Depth. My bad.
You can untwist your knickers now

I give up. It's so disappointing that some simple things in T have never quite worked properly. Still, this wont make me change to anything else, but I feel annoyed that sometimes the software is working against me rather than with me... of course it's never the computer's fault.

In this case, it may very well be. I really don't know. I've not had the experience you've had, and I've not heard of anyone else who's had it, either. That doesn't mean that it doesn't happen, it just means that there are probably a LOT of people like me who simply don't bother with that high of a sample rate and bit depth.

I know that despite the hype, a lot of us still do our recording at 24-bit, 48kHz, or 16-bit 44.1kHz, so it's probably not as common as you might think that someone would have bumped up against this. OR, there's still something that you've overlooked. I don't mean that as anything personal because I simply don't have your computer sitting in front of me, but it's tricky to say if every avenue has been explored.

If it's any consolation, I understand your annoyance even if I'm no help at solving the problem. Who'd want to craft and work several hours on a song, just to discover that they can't get a proper mix rendered?

I don't suppose you want to make .ogg files of what's happening? Upload an edit? Even without all the plug-ins you have, someone might be able to sleuth something about your edit. I dunno, just throwing suggestions out there.

Did you try the TapeIt? 5 minutes of recording in realtime is surely better than 5-10 hours of trying to solve the problem right now? (not to say it should never be looked at again, but if you're that fed up with it, you might want to just dump a render and move to your next project for a while).
