doug: that's one solution, but as much as I've love to be able to do that, it just wouldn't be practical for me.

stash: thanks..I'll see if there's a demo for that too. :)

Uninstall Zone Alarm. Try Sygate. The last ZA update had lots of problems.

I hate these kinds of problems, and I've yet to experience anything like that with my Mac. Plus, I have long standign beef with Windows in general.
Sounds like you are the problem, not Windoze. Its all in your head, I don't so use any of that krap and I've nevr had the slightest problem. All you need is a little common sense.

If you really want to put your mind at ease, create a Linux partition with dual-boot and use Linux for all your net needs. Disconnect and reboot into Windoze to do music. You'll probably find it makes you more productive because once you make the decision to start making some music you can't be distracted by the lure of the 'net.

I never waste time surfing the net when I make music. Nope. Never. Not me.

2ndStringer: Thanks.. I've never heard of Sygate.. I'll have a look at it.

Bones: I've tried Linux several times.. I would never be able to use linux happily.. case in point: the last time I tried, I spent over an hour trying to install an IM program, because I had to go scrounge the net for packages that the program required, but didn't include. :bang:
i can't stand the elitist "l33t haxxor" attitude that surrounds the linux community. (not saying everyone who uses it is like that.. just 98% of them - and i've yet to meet any of that 2%)

And as Kovacs and Stag said as well.. I like to look things up, or chat on IMs or something. and i have an unhealthy addiction to checking my email.. i can't cut myself off, and I don't have the space to have 2 computers.
