no it deos not. you can double click to insert note, double click to delete, and drag up/down to change velocity. i never even use the pencil tool. and i think you can even change velocity with the pencil tool.jmh wrote:But Live needs switching tools for either moving notes or altering their velocity and so on

SO dragging up/down with the plain mouse pointer changes velocities in Live? How do you change pitches then?

... plain click-drag will just move the note around (but not in draw / pencil mode where it will just delete the note you click on) ...

Yeah, sure... but I was talking about direct "on-note" actions (which are faster than anything else).
