I'm sure this has been asked a gillion times. But how do you install plug-ins in receptor?? I dont see a CD drive for example. Does receptor have to be connected to another computer (through usb i guess) to be able to install new plug-ins? And if the plug-in is just a .DLL as with most freeware, Is there any extra steps in installing it? Sorry for the bonehead questions but I'm considering getting one and need to know how it handles plugs.

Hi AD80, when i read your question, i can see you don't have a receptor. There is a hard disk in the receptor. In my case, i connect it with my laptop by a cross lan cable and make a connection. I can see the drive of the receptor and go to program files/vst/unsuported plugins. There i can put the vst.dll i like to have installed. With the receptor software on my laptop i go to the page and click install. Sometimes it doesn't work:(. Mostly it does. The other way is to download the vst plugin at plugorama. Then you get the vst.dll file with an extra made installer for the receptor and put this file on the receptors hhd/installers.

Ahh, got it.

Couple more questions: So LAN is the only way to connect to the computer? What about USB? And also, do you constantly have to have the computer hooked up to Receptor, or only when you're transfering, installing files?

You've been a big help. Thanks.

The usb ports are to connect extra drives, keyboard or other midi controller(like the I-Cube or Behringer midi cc-r) and the plugorama key. For your other question: yes. But live you can use the receptor as a stand alone host, with it's own monitor, mouse and keyboard. I don't do that because i have to cary that extra stuff for that. I use the receptors software on my laptop to control it and my nord modulars and G2(clavia). My other laptop, i use for visuals.
You're welcome.
