No way to expand T1, I'm afraid.
When I was on T1, though, I used the second monitor for either plug-ins (use the "lock" feature) or my audio editor.

Lunch is right, no way to expand. However, on most dual-monitor setups that's now what is done anyways. Usually the second monitor is for the mixer, which T doesn't have a separate mixer window, or for plug-ins, as Lunch suggested. That way your first screen is free in the first monitor, while all extra windows go in the second one.

Even with T2, I never bother stretching it across 2 monitors. I use my dual-monitor setup the way I always have, which is the way I described above.

my post might be a little off-topic, but except the nice bundle of plugin, a slightly improved midi functionnality, and the ability to have color schemes, what is so attractive with T2 ?
What are the really new features ?
I wish a lot to have an improved loop tool (like in Acid with autotempo-sync stretching and brush tool), but it isn"t yet on T2...
my post might be a little off-topic, but except the nice bundle of plugin, a slightly improved midi functionnality, and the ability to have color schemes, what is so attractive with T2 ?
What are the really new features ?

You honestly want a feature list? 
That's what the Mackie website is for. But I'll humour you:
64-bit mixing engine and audio loop recording are certainly nice additions. The MIDI improvements aren't slight, but substantial.... the inclusion of native send/return filters (although Senderella is still roXorZ), controller capabilities, MIDI learn functionality (not that I've ever used it), revised GUI including hiding filter/input sections (to recapture screen space), large input meters, "per-track" input device mode, scalable window, *Quicktime Video Support*...
That includes most (but not all) of the main new features (again emphasizing, the MIDI is a complete overhaul, not just a 'slight' change... good luck editing velocity lanes in T1 ).
Now, you add to that the plug-ins that people may or may not need (including Mackie Dynamics, which is a great package no matter how you look at it and is available for both downloadable and retail-box customers).
It's pretty substantial.
Just because it didn't include the main feature you were hoping for, doesn't mean that the program itself wasn't worked on. There could be people who have been absolutely dying for Quicktime support (and who don't care for Acid-like looping) that finally have it.
Plus, don't dismiss the Colour Scheme editor. OK, OK, it's not strictly necessary, but it sure makes the whole experience a different one, and each person's individual style and vibe can be accomodated.

I did not mean at hurting Tracktionneers susceptibily !
That is just that by the moment i can not find any host fulfilling my needs.
I have the habit of working with acid for years, but it's getting a bit 'old', despite the new version and improvements, it doesn't have Live or tracktion flexibility...
Live is amazing, but not for the kind of cutted-up beats i use to make.
When Tracktion 1,6 came free, i gave it a look, and was blown by some of its features. So i thought i had found my acid turnover (i don't know it it is a correct term in english)...
I was enjoying it working with midi (siomple, efficient), but it takes me too many time to edit loops, so i always end up opening acid !
I thought it was because i know now nearly every Acid keyboard shortcut, and that is not the case wit T1, but i think there is a lack in looping and time-stretching (as it was i think with cubase previous versions, why i never gave it a look !).
The aim of such a post was not to have a complete T2 feature list (i would have been seeing on mackie's website, and not asked it on a forum), the aim of my question was much : imo, it seemed that new features were more some kind of an "update" not valueing going for something free( T1,6) to a (rather cheap) paying software (T2)..
I was wandering what made tracktionneers go from T1 to T2 (the fidelity, the will to support, real needs... ? ) ;
That's why i posted it on a forum...
I know the color scheme seem to be some kind of a detail, but is is a nice feature i requested on raw material's forum one year ago !
And midi edition seems to have been a lot improved (even if T1 suited my needs), so 'ill give an eye on the demo.

Well, if you're a mad beat-slicer, do it old school with the Tracktion sampler.
One of Tracktion's strengths is the set of shortcuts. Nobody's experiencing T until they learn at least the major shortcuts.
Currently, though, it won't do Acid-like loop manipulation. I'd like to see it some day, too, but it's not really Tracktion's raison d'etre.
No apologies necessary-- but the list of new features and the redesigned sound engine certainly qualify it as a major step increment, and not just a point increment. (ie. 2.x, not just 1.x)
