Well, it's a few hours late, but here's my September Mashup:

I approached this in a wholly different way: I merged all the sonograms together, then made three *exposures* of the composite image. I ran each exposure through Xx ( a tool for converting images in to MIDI data. Then I imported the MIDI files into my sequencer and reassigned the channels and event data to a bunch of my synths. I also did a bit of reduundant note weeding, time scaling and harmonizing. I mixed that down to three stereo tracks (one for each exposure) and mixed them with some bits of real sound from several of the songs. Viola!

It took a few hours, but it was an interesting experiment for me and I really did manage to include nearly a good portion of everyone's song in the final product - though you'd never be able to tell...

Thanks for the very positive review. I can't hear the mush in the low-mid ranges myself - just as well I am not an audio engineer

More of that 'switched on' stuff. Sounds authentic, my only gripe is your self-confessed use of a midifile. I'd have been really impressed if you'd actually recreated this yourself. Still, I drifted away nicely for a few minutes.

Time did not permit me to create this all from scratch this month - if it had been a competition month, I probably would not have entered. But I am glad you enjoyed it, nevertheless. Thanks for taking the time to review.

I am glad you enjoyed it. Rest assured that the sounds are not presets, although they are based on presets - I am not smart enough to be able to program these sounds from an empty patch (yet). But I can assure you that I will have something much more original for this month's theme. Thanks for taking the time to review, and for the sonograms - they are an interesting view of each track.

Once said that, what could I say about Adagio. I'm a Baroque fan. The italian school is great, but one of the most known bits is that Adagio (despite the masterpiece it is). In the sounds plain, all the voices are very good programmed except the low, that sounds too dark for my taste.

Thanks for your comments. The bass pluck happens to be one of my favourite sounds - just as well we have differing opinions
