  1. Open up the Plug-in Manager from the Tools menu
  2. Select the specific VST plug-in you want to change.
  3. Click the "Plug-in Props..." button at the bottom of the Plug-in Manager dialog.
  4. Uncheck the option that says "Enable delay compensation"

Ive got Sonar 5 in my grubby mitts and I can tell you its all rubish , Ive had NO problems with the vsti adapter what so ever.
I just got sonar5 today and i just installed it without checking for updates or patches just install out of the box to my HD with internet disabled and no problems with the adapter and no its not something they fixed real quick with a patch cause i didnt patch anything yet.

To answer your question on Subsonar I cant cause I never found a need to use it but I can add that everything works that I had on Sonar4 and I had alot.

Only one thing I cant get to work and that making me cry, its my Cakewalk Spectra effect , which is a great tool for chours , its the only bug i found other than the cpu meter bug.

Sorry to come across like a dick but Sonar has been good to me and I feel like its a relative or a old uncle or auntie so i tend to defend it alot.

update I have read the posts on how ppl are angry over the vsti support in S5 and to tell you ive never had the need to arrange my vsti in a certian way, not to say I wouldnt like to try that Subsonar thing but other than that it has not stoped on me and is working just as good as FXpansion or DirectXiser.
edit: @GypsyJazz and others, too ...

"because i am happy with it, everybody that dares to chritizise it has shit for brains" ?

ppl, just because it works "ok" for you, doesn't mean that it works well enough for everybody. people have different needs and practices. .. i can't imagine that to be too hard to understand?

Just as a heads up. Ive just got S5 and it looks like the currently-available version of SUBSonar seems to work fine, and there's nothing different that I can see that the new version of the adaptor does with the registry data.

Hence, as far as I can tell, the current and future versions of SUBSonar should be completely compatible with Sonar5. In fact, there's a slight advantage on v5; you may no longer need to shut down Sonar to see the changes made by SUBSonar; running the Plugin Manager, or the VST Config Wizard from inside Sonar seems to cause it to rebuild its menu structure; hence you should be able to update your menu folders 'on the fly' while Sonar5 is still open.
