1. We have a nice count in [pre-roll for us old Atari Cubase users] in Tracktion, but it doesn't work in Loop mode. Pressing record in loop mode immediately starts recording.
OK, I could turn off loop, and then hit record, do my stuff, and then turn it back on, but it would be nice to have it behave the same whether in loop or standard mode.
2. I would like to see Tracktion start to record immediately when pressing record if it is already playing. Right now, it skips a few beats and the audio stutters. Its very difficult to rehearse your bit and then punch in on time. I'd rather not have to set punch in points.
Both Live and Reason can handle recording on the fly without stopping playback very nicely. Can we see Tracktion do the same please?
3. When 'show waveforms' is selected in options, I would like to see the new waveform/midi data being added in real time as one records on that track. I think Sonar calls it 'confidence recording', but other apps do this as well . I think its rather handy.

I'd like to see a count-in which works in loop mode as well: not being a programmer, I have no idea how dificult it would be to implement.
Coffee please, black, no sugar.

Agreed. The last one is interesting, as some people say it's a ludicrous feature, but I think it's really handy when working quickly - you can see if (a) it's not recording at all, meaning you haven't set inputs correctly, and (b) it's recording too hot or too low level-wise.
Anyway, good call!

Count-in in general needs some dressing up - even in T1.6 while punching in - I'd like count-in where the tracks that I'm not recording, but have already been recorded, are playing back for cueing / pitch setting purposes.

This might seem overly simple but why not just pull the in marker back a bar and then silence it out when you've nailed it. I find doing it this way, I can get in the groove a little better, especially when punching in, but I kind of like this with loop recording as well.

All sound good. I would strongly suggest, however, that the new waveform/midi data being added in real time as one records on that track be user selectable on or off.
I would definately want to turn it off at times when edits have progressed to the point where I need to conserve the horsepower.
People with slower computers also have to be factored in so they are not "featured out" (no longer able to use T due to new features requiring to many resources).

I'm up for any improvements but 1. would be very nice indeed.
