It's a simple rip-off of my mixing desk eq. Ugly graphic, but powerful and simple.

A "tone control" is a personal preference. There are standards but they are all over the place. So what's so standard about that? A graphic is not a moving target. You select the frequency and cut/boost.. easy. Same with parametric except you select the frequency to c/b.

Here's a tiny stereo 7-band graphic. http://www.ele4music.com/vst/ge-7s.zip

Hey that's pretty nice... I was ABing them in chainer and they sound pretty close in the 9-0-3 range. Your's has a bit more boost/cut than mine. Not really necessary for minior track fixes but good to have. Seems like we are in the same ballpark frequency wise. It gives me hope that I may be on the way to getting it right. :)

The neat thing is they sound great together. TrackEQs -> YamahaEQ :-o

Okay, these look really cool! I'll try 'em tonight. Thanks for everyone's help!
I try to care and understand.

I tossed a 3 band parametric together. You still have low-mid-high but you can dial up the frequency for each band. 50-200 400-1.5K 3K-12K. It's not as simple but may be better for overall track use.. Anyway I'm still playing with solutions.

the yam eq is simple, easy, and good sounding (after posihfopit, I should say your eqs really sound "musical", with a real natural tone.
and I love the twisted knobs ;)
maybe a betabug three buttons plug in in the way, with non twisted knobs??

Working version. I got what I wanted. I did some freq analisis on the YamahaEQ and tweeked the TrkEQ until I was close. Then messed with it until I liked it. I got the GE7s and PEQ souped up too.:party::party:

Get the working version here.

I put all 3 new versions together in 1 zip. I gotta say I think I was right about the PEQ being the better choice for a track eq. Maybe I'm nuts :nutter: but I like it best. :D :D

EDIT: I forgot to say the EG-7 is now the EG-9
