A temporary solution to closing edits is to
rescan for plugins. Tracktion will then
close the edit before a scan...
This is just a temp but still...

explain why you would want to close a edit if your not loading another one or closing Tracktion?

To not to have to close Tracktion or mute all tracks to save some cpu and ram. If you take a look in the forum there is a thread discussing this.djsubject wrote:explain why you would want to close a edit if your not loading another one or closing Tracktion?

I dunno. I've admitted that I sometimes reach for one, but man... it's REALLY low on my list of priorities.

He just wanted to be able to free up resources for times that, say, he wanted to watch a video or whatnot instead of working on his song, but didn't want to go through the trouble of closing and re-opening Tracktion.

Sure, for CPU.
Same as tabbing to another page. Nothing's being processed, so no CPU is being used. Neither of them free up RAM, mind you.
But since the original poster just wanted to make sure his CPU was being freed up, I guess it's all clear now.
Hey, *I* am not the one who was requesting it. I just keep Tracktion open (on the edit page, even) when I want to do other stuff. There's nothing else I do that requires enough RAM or CPU to bother. If I want to play a game, I'm closing Tracktion anyhow. 
I'm of the personal opinion that 10 seconds to reload Tracktion isn't going to tear my life away.
