Sex sells, does'nt it ?
The funny part that you didn't know until just now is that my response post (which I ended up deleting because I finally got to the last paragraph and realized he had misunderstood me all along) was at least as long again.boogooloo1 wrote:Holy shit - we've uncovered a longer poster than Lunch! Let me add,Sex sells, does'nt it ?
Or you have misinterpreted my first postLunch Money wrote:Hrm... you seem to have missed the point I was making, and I just spent the last 45 minutes typing a new response, when as it turns out, we agree all along.Yes, but then this means that amp simulators are better solution for people who don't have money or room, or equipment, not that amp sims are better or equal to amps they emulate. And reason for my post was my feeling like there is growing idea of sims coming up there, close to the real thing, based on ignorance, marketing hype and other things.
You totally misinterpreted what I was trying to say, but that's the joy of internet. <laff>
I was not adressing people like you in my first post. As I have already said, hype abaut sims is there and when I go thru one of all those threads, there is a lot of people claming that they are getting great tracks sounding like real amps from their amp simulators. I was just pointing that this simply is not true, and talking about possible reasons. They can come close to the real thing, but not that close, even they would hear the difference easily if they could have miced amp in the same room.I'd never say that a sim is better than a good amp, with a good speaker, in a good room, with the right technique. To be honest, I don't know how you would have thought that's what I was saying, unless you had pre-judged me as being that type of person, which I'm not.
They do not have all those things but sometimes there are other solution, for instance, I am currently about to build wooden sound isolated box that can handle amp an microphone so I record amp in my appartement.I mean... surely you KNEW that the people in this thread are curious about AT2 because they don't necessarily have all 4 of those things, right? Otherwise, your post would have just been preaching to the converted. Most of us would love to have access to the real thing in a real studio instead.

No problem, just tell me prior recording, do you want me to mic my voice or to use simulationboogooloo1 wrote:Holy shit - we've uncovered a longer poster than Lunch! Can I have an audio cassette version??!

We should never meet in real worldThe funny part that you didn't know until just now is that my response post (which I ended up deleting because I finally got to the last paragraph and realized he had misunderstood me all along) was at least as long again.
Piece of crap? That is rediculous. (and insulting too btw) But, if anyone wants to hold themselves back from this amazing piece of GOLD then that is their problem. I honestly mean that from the bottom of my Squid heart. You know why? Because, from my perspective, and I have been in and around the music industry for a long time, I have talked to a lot of guitar players and even just at the last NAMM show with an early version people were foaming at the mouth. They want this. So, why don't you? Who knows? But, all that Squids-hype is not just fluff. I would not go on and on about ANYTHING if I didn't believe in it. I just don't have it in me to do that. I am picky just like a lot of you. I want great quality and character in the sounds and effects I use. I wish I could personally have Aspen Pittman's old vintage amp collection (have some of them) but something like this gives a virtual emulation of that which comes closer than I have seen or heard so far. Ummm, that's to be appreciated if you ask me! Not spat on. But, to each his own.Len wrote:The real question is - WHERE IS SQUIDS? No clarification on anything (upgrade pricing etc). And they expect us to stump up the cash for this overhyped piece of crap? (Well its a piece of crap based on their sound so far - talk about silly marketing technique).
