I've thought long and hard about these things. Some people will just find too much wrong with everything.
Animals were created for different reasons than humans.
And IIR, I wasn't the one who originally inserted the word "evil". What I know is my sin nature. I know that I'm not perfect. That doesn't give me bad self esteem. It doesn't contradict ANYTHING.
Mentally ill, idiot, whatever it is. I'm not. I've done research, studied, learned some things the hard way, etc. I still believe. But I don't come here and try to tell someone else that his religion or beliefs are wrong, or that they are mentally ill for thinking what they do. I have more respect than that.
However, I didn't have a problem with it being in your sig. I just inserted my comments since it came up. I'm not offended easily. I can tolerate others no matter what they believe. I just hope for respect in return. And if I don't get it, I won't sleep any less.
Why I keep getting myself into this, I'll never know.

It's funny. Because I do feel strongly about these things. And despite knowing that nothing is accomplished with it all, I still do it. Maybe I'm just too bored here at the radio station.
I'll never understand my need to "insert comment here".

Oh FFS!!! God can do that too right? How the hell is a poor mortal supposed to know the difference?djsubject wrote:(in islam it says the devel can speak to you in your own voice)
If there are 'higher powers' out there I bet you anything they have better ways to occupy themselves than by playing those kind of petty vindictive mind games on vastly inferior intelligences.

i agree with all of your points, yet i still believe in god. what do i have to lose? if there is a god, and if there is a heaven, i'm gonna be sure that i go there. and i believe god is a merciful god, it says that about 100000 times in the bible.rivrock wrote:Going back to the story of creation isnt enough, you have to go back to before the beginning, when god was planning creation, he knew from day one that things were going to go seriously wrong, but he went ahead with it anyway, smart, real smart.
Well if this is plan A, I doubt if plan B would have been any better.
The moral of the story is: Under no circumstances (when creating universes) must women be allowed to eat apples.
Why do animals suffer, they have no sin.
If you want to remain strong in your faith, then dont think about these things, otherwise youll end up like me, in a religion free zone.
He who thinks he knows, doesn't know, he who knows he doesn't know, knows.
and here is something for you to think about. why do you think there is billions of stars? are they really just sitting out there for no reason? i believe that god is gonna give each believer their own star or group of stars. and if you are a non-believer you'll get a second chance. so if you are a non-believer then you are fortunate.
i believe the bible has a crapload of analogies. did all of the events in the old testament really happen? maybe, maybe not. but they are there to prove a point.
the amazing thing about god is that you can't quite figure it all out. if you could, this life wouldnt be a test would it?
i believe that we didnt just all magically appear out of nowhere. some force like god had to create this universe. and who created god? this world is only three dimensions, and we are all held back by time. i believe god is far beyond anything we could imagine.

I'm unusually bored tonight. It's busy with calls here at the station, with giveaways, requests, etc. I'm watching the Yankees game( I HATE the Yankees), surfing the net, and eating. Yet I'm still bored.
So yeah, which tune you working on? I'm a piano player for 15 years now, and I'm a sucker for any good piano piece!

Hi subz
Spelling doesnt count, and I didnt make any jokes, I think you communicate better than most in this forum, I read between the lines.
Animals dont suffer like we do, I have to disagree, while we know they suffer physically, elephants in particular appear to grieve over their dead.
I was wrapped up in religion for years, but now, for me it just doesnt add up.

I guess it comes down to this. Not everyone will believe the same. And nobody is ill or wrong just for believing or not. Some people can be idiots and give other a bad name, but smart people will know that this isn't the case with everyone who believes or doesn't.
As a musician, I have respect for most people here. I think it goes around and around.
Now, as I was saying. IIR, you acted like you needed help with that tune? Maybe I read your smilies wrong. I'll help if you ever need keys work, or have a question.
But I'm not aware of your piano abilities, as they may be greater than mine. What song was that again?

Oops, sorry, overlapped posts.
If you can't get it, I'd be willing to try. It wouldn't be until tomorrow night or so before I could do it. I get off here tonight after midnight and have to work in the morning. So after that I could try. Even if you can get it, maybe you would like another option of versions.
Let me go home and give it a listen, and let me know if you want me to do it! Stevie Wonder can be tricky at times, so I feel your pain!

You are right. God is far beyond anything we could imagine. Thats why he became man and dwelt here on earth and taught us.
The bible is 66 devinely inspired books, written by 40 authers, over thousands of years, and over several contenents, giving the exact same good news message. When they found the dead sea scrolls, one was the original book of Isaiah and the schollers compared it to todays bible and after 5000 years of copying this book over and over to todays version the only difference is the equivilent of a comma ( , ) or a ' .
If you were to compare Shakespear of today to the original you would hardly recognise it and thats only a few hundred years.

Well, depends what you mean by "get it" .. I'm confident I can get the notes right, but not so sure that I can recreate the feel of a good pianist by playing badly and then correcting it! (Its bloody time-consuming too)koolkeys wrote:Oops, sorry, overlapped posts.

here's what I've got so far (just drums bass & piano)
If you fancy it I'll send you an archive with a tempo map so you can point it to your own copy of the track: I would need your performance as MIDI as I need to transpose it before I add guitars..

Hi keyboardmatt
You seem to have a pretty good attitude about this whole religion thing, I used to feel the same, even mixing in a little star treky cosmos thing, with a star for everyone.
I just have to say this, what ever makes people happy, you have to feel good most of the time, so what ever does the trick, hang on to it.
