IIR, I'll gladly help with the part. I can't listen here as the internet computer isn't hooked up to speakers. But I'll listen when I get home. And you can send me an archive if you want. I'll just send an archive back, or whatever is easiest. There's nothing like the human feel. It's hard to do programming MIDI.
So I'll help as much as I can! PM me or send me an email to:
brent (at) brentrandallmusic (dot) com
Cheers!

Hey koolkeys, you 'Mission' link gives a 404 error. Kinda funny IMO.

Ahhh, that would be because I JUST took down most of the site since I am finishing a redesign. That designed sucked! I just left enough for people to buy my CD. "The Mission" page isn't a Christian mission, but rather a personal mission as a musician. Hopes, aspirations, etc.
IIR, I'll get to working on that tomorrow night if possible, unless something comes up.

Yeah, just with the other content on your site and the contents of this thread, it was a natural assumption.
Anyway, I don't mind Christians as long as they aren't trying to bring about the end times etc. It's the ones trying to bring about a theocracy that worry me. Bush is among those IMO. I want our government listening to the people, not the voices in their heads.

I'm not offended by IIRs's signature, and I'm sure he's not offended by mine... but I do find the generalised assumption in this comment (and others like it) quite deeply offensive towards some people that I know and care about...IIRs wrote: ...ruthless exploitation of such by the educated priest/parasite class.
You said yourself, if god does exist he is way beyond our puny comprehension. What makes you think he cares if we believe or not? The only people who stand to gain from the widespread belief in god & the afterlife are the people who materially benefit from such belief in this life.
My parents-in-law gave up their jobs, gave away most of their stuff to those less well off, and went as missionaries to work in a poor part of the world.
One of my best mates and his wife both have very posh jobs in industry and make an absolute fortune... almost all of which they give to the poor. They are part-time church leaders, and deeplyu committed to helping the poor in the Phillapines. They visit there once a year, help run a charity to provide aid... you get the picture.
To ridicule these people by saying they are mentally ill is easy enough for me to get my head around, or even slightly identify with (I don't class myself as a believer at all, by the way). But to describe them as parasites is simply beyond the pail.
I understand where you get the idea from... USA tele-evangelists, catholic cardinals living in palaces, etc etc. But the majority of christian leaders in my experience don't live that way.

If God is Infinite, He certainly would have the power to make Himself known to people. Thinking He's telling you you should wear tin foil to keep out negative vibrations (or invading Iraq) would be insane.
Anyway, the Bhagavad Gita says depending on time, place and circumstance, God descends to cast out demoniac behavior and set up an appropriate 'religion' for that time, place and circumstance. So in a Hindu point of view, Jesus may have been appropriate in Israel 2000 years ago. I dunno about now, Christians dropping bombs on people and all seems like the Anti-Christ more than true religion. Would Jesus have done that?

If there are 'higher powers' out there I bet you anything they have better ways to occupy themselves than by playing those kind of petty vindictive mind games on vastly inferior intelligences.

Seriously though, if IIRs is UK based (I think he is right?) then he does need to be careful...djsubject wrote:roll:

...some of his points could easily be interpreted as "spreading religeous hate/intolerance", which is now a serious offence in this country.
Goodness knows where that actually leaves any of us in terms of freedom of speech
Equally scary is the news last week that a young woman was arrested and held without charge after she wore a T-Shirt in public bearing the slogan, "Bollocks to Blair".
Worrying times...

Mate, I've got to agree with subz on this one. Much though i respect your knowledge on matters musical, and you seem like a nice guy, you really need to do a wee bit of reading about the teachings of various religions before you start commenting on them. You have a very tenuous grasp of some aspects of Judaeo-Christianity and seem to think this applies to all religions indiscrimately.djsubject wrote:Look Read up on or shut up!
A basic intro to philosophy wouldn't go amiss either. Your take on it all is pretty unsophisticated, seems to be whatever you think "makes sense", "fits the facts", and opposed to what you've gleaned from pop cultural references like Life of Brian or tabloid articles on fundamentalism.
People have explored all areas of moral, theological and secular philosophy extensively for centuries, and they didn't just come down in two basic camps, "I believe in god, who's like what's in the bible" and "i don't believe in god like what's in the bible".
You obviously have strong opinions on this topic, and i'm not about to argue whether you're right or wrong. All i'm saying is your opinions aren't particularly well informed, and it shows. If you want to have an intelligent debate about the subject, it would help if you'd educate yourself a bit about it.
I mean, you don't even seem to realise that Subz isn't Christian, or that a statement like "my belief has the added merit of actually fitting the facts as I percieve them." is an oxymoron. As well as being a meaningless truism.
Honestly, no offence meant (which is more than you could claim about your kvr signature
Can we get back to Tracktion now, or move this to HPC?
