How works MIDI Common channel on Receptor?

I do have synthesizer GEM Equinox and sound module Roland JV 2080. When I am in performance mode, for example number 01, the same performace number 01 is selected also on JV 2080. When I change the number on my Equinox, the number changes also on JV 2080. The communication goes through the same setting of MIDI common channel on both equipments.
And now my question. How to reach the same behaviour when I connect Equinox directly to Receptor when I am in Multi mode? Now when I change performance in Equinox, there is some change of sounds, effects etc. on Receptor but the number of patch in Multi bank doesn´t change
How do you solve this situation ?
