No audio clips, nothing.
Think about it, there is only the IK/AT site...
Yes, as far I'm concerned AT2 is still nothing but a myth. Where are Adam and Jamie when we need them??Midiworks wrote:Hm, 2 guys at AES,

Lunch Money, while that is true, I wasn't surprised at the fact that it was sustaining, I was surprised at how good the sustain sounded. What I said impressed me most was how the dynamics were still kept intact even with the huge amount of gain. It was basically like "wow, the picking dynamics are still coming through even though it's sustaining that much." I don't know how other to explain other than even with my monitors cranked on my Guitarport, using my Les Paul or not, I'm not getting both aspects (dynamics + sustain). It always feels like it's one or the other, whereas this one felt like it had both.Lunch Money wrote:Regarding sustain-- sim or no sim, if he was playing through an actual amplification system (ie. speakers!) the dynamics between strings and amp is restored.
There's no plug-in in the world that can increase the natural sustain of your guitar. I don't mean that sustain can't be added with effects, I mean that the string itself will only vibrate a certain amount of time. This amount of time, and the way it vibrates, is partially (sometimes largely!) affected by standing in front of a speaker.
So, even with your humble existing setup, give'er a try. Compare the sustain you get from tracking with headphones to the sustain you get from tracking while pumping the signal through some cabs or a sizeable enough hifi.

Lets have the myth busters investigate whether or not iLok/PACE has actually made any money for a company. Lets put the copy protection myth to rest once and for ALLmondo tormento wrote:Yes, as far I'm concerned AT2 is still nothing but a myth. That's simple: YES, there are companies that made money from iLok and PACE. Quite simple: The companies selling these copy protections and dongles...Stupid American Pig wrote: Lets have the myth busters investigate whether or not iLok/PACE has actually made any money for a company. The problem being: There's no way to compare. What you'd have to compare to is a company with unobtrusive copy protection, such as a serial number or a simple keyfile (as with eXT) and excellent support.tq wrote: (But I would guess that companies aren't stupid and can compare sales before and after the introduction of copy protection - so there must be a good reason why they opt for protection, even considering that they might lose some customers because of the inconvenience this causes...)
No need for further explanation, we get it.Funkybot wrote:

That's not true, I've had a reason to investigate ilok some recently and I learned something very interesting...the only people who complain about them are the hobbyists. In fact I believe that ilok is the professionals choice. One guy told me he had thousands of dollars in gear all storing their codes on one ilok.tq wrote:That's simple: YES, there are companies that made money from iLok and PACE.
