Am I correct to assume that this means that us Kontakt 2 users should feel confident to come on board right away?

Yes. Kontakt 2 was one of the main reasons we decided to ship 1.4 without UniWire sooner, rather than wait until UniWire is ready.

For 1.4 we added a featrue which bypasses the Receptor MIDI filter so CC# data can goe straight to the plugin. This was required for Kontakt 2.
