Colossus registration and HD change on Receptor

I don’t know if this is the wrong place to ask this question but maybe someone can help me.
I’ve bought Colossus (by itself - I already had the Receptor) and I have also ordered a bigger HD from Muse.
The question is whether I can install and register Colossus now, and change the plug (or install it again) when my bigger drive comes, or if the licence only works on the HD where I first installed the package.
I also wonder if I can install only parts of Colossus on my Receptor - well if I can’t, then I don’t have the first problem because my current drive only has 21 Gig available :o)

Thanks for any help!

/Andreas.

If you install it now you will use one license. Then, when you install it on the larger hard drive you will need another license. You can have only two licenses, I believe, and you already used one on your computer.

In theory you could invalidate the license for the smaller hard drive, and get a new one for the larger hard drive. You would do that on the NI web site. But, you may run into the problem of not being able to get a new license because the hardware configuration looks close enough to the one you just canceled. I ran once into this problem. I canceled the license on one Receptor, and when I tried to get a new one for a different Receptor, the web site said that I already canceled that hardware configuration.

My strong recommendation is to wait until you get the larger hard drive and install only it on the larger one.

In theory you could install only parts of Colossus, but it is not very practical. The sample library comes in several large files. You could use trial and error and find out which files are needed for the instruments you want to use, but it could be very time consuming, and you never know when you need another instrument that is not installed.

My recommendation is to install the whole thing on the larger hard drive.

Sigh, I guess I have to wait, I hope they build my new drive soon so I can get my hands on Colossus
Thanks for the quick reply, you were fast enough to stop me from doing something stupid!
