GUI response issue one more time

Are there any new ideas why T2 is _very_ slow when mixing more then few tracks? I mean - any meters, plugins, analyzers and so on are totally useless when talking about their visual refresh rates in T2 when mixing more then lets say 10 tracks. Their refresh rates are about once per 2-3 seconds or worse. There were no problems in T1 - everything was smooth - normal, just like it should be.
I think its not the hardware issue - athlon 3000+ with nforce2, 1 GB of DDR (dual), fast hdds.
Tracktion 1 with the same session is flawless, sessions 2,3,4,5 smaller on T2 are totally screwed because of unreadible meters of every kind (level meters too).

Any ideas?

I would be very happy if anyone could help.

Thanks in advance.

Usual things to check are the colour scheme you're using (some people indicate some skins affect performance, although i'm not clear why exactly. Try the old T1 version, do you get the same behaviour?) and your PCI latency. For what it's worth, I don't get this issue, but I used to on T1 with a different combination of sound and graphics card.

One pci latency tool you could try is available at

Cant think of anything else at the minute ...

I can't think of what it should be, either, but I relate to your frustration. When I was having GUI slowdowns, it seemed like nobody believed me that I had tried everything I could.

I still can't report exactly WHY the issues stopped, but the release of v2.0.1.3 seemed to clear it up. I also bought a new vid card at around that time-- now, I'm not saying it was the card (which is NOT a powerful card) necessarily, but the fact that I changed it might have changed the IRQ and PCI latency settings simply because it was a new card that was installed.

I seem to recall somebody reporting that after they completely uninstalled and re-installed with the latest version, problems cleared up, too.

That's just vague memory, though, and might not even be true... it's worth a try if you have 5 spare minutes, in addition to the other suggestions.

Thanks for the reply guys.

Changing color scheme doest change anything :(
I dont know if this PCI Latency tool is working - every time i restart i have the same latency setting for my graphic card (R9100) - 255. I tryed to change it in BIOS, but in BIOS i set it 128 (was 32).

I have the same issues when working on : M-Audio delta 1010LT and Mackie Onyx 1640 FW.

And about reinstalling everything - its a good idea. But im in the middle of the huge recoring and i dont want anything to get lost ;)

Thanks once more.

Hmmm. Yeah, I can relate to that

When the next update appears, perhaps I'll uninstall 2.0.1.13 first and do a fresh install. Perhaps it will help here.
