i second that^^^
i have received words of praise on my (so called) mixdown in a few of my tracks done 100% in live5. why did i say 'so-called? cuz i don't really do a proper mixdown cuz i don't have the necessary knowledge yet, so i try to get everything sound as good as i can from the very beginning. and imho, live sounds great, maybe different from others, but great non the less

Are you being serious? It's a very large store just on the fringe of the 'sketchy' piece of Granville st. 6 floors of all-things-music... It has become my 'money pit' ... I am thinking about just signing my paychecks over to them... Still, its a wonderfull place to spend a rainy sunday afternoon!BONES wrote:They have Tom Lee stores in Vancouver!?! My biggest question is the VST/VSTi support... The machine I was playing with only had RMX and some VA that I didn't recognise off hand. Is the VST support pretty thorough? I love automating VST parameters, so I'd like to know if that is fully functional in L5.
There is 2 big problems concerning VST-VSTi usage.
1-Live only deals with the first 128 parameters. No access at all to param over 128, that prevents you to automate them, and cause prolems with recording patch changes during a song.
2-auto-oscillating parameter: some plugs have parameters that move during playback, and that has important consequences: you loose undo, and the back to arrangement flag is always on, causing workflow problems.
I contacted them about that and there is no timetable to fix those problems.
BTW Ableton has lots of problem releasing a working V5.
I use Live almost all the time, it is a very creative program, but those limitations give me a lot of problems.

Of course I am being serious. You know the're from Hong Kong, don't you? I've been buying stuff from them since the second time I went to Hong Kong, in 1985. I've probably spent as much money with them as I have with any other company.advaya wrote:Are you being serious?BONES wrote:They have Tom Lee stores in Vancouver!?! OMFG!
