Receptor Remote sometimes not work correctly

I use "Auto (DHCP)" setting in TCP/IP menu. Everytime after starting my Receptor, it shows addresses: 000.000.000.000 and netmask: 000.000.000.000. After each start I begin to update Receptor with "Auto (DHCP)" and after a while the addresses are: 169.254.080.099 and netmask: 255.255.000.000. Than connection through Ethernet cable in Windows Commander is possible (Receptor is Mounted) and I may delete, copy files between my PC and Receptor. But problem is with Receptor Remote SW. When I connect it into address 169.254.080.099 the initial screen appears and "Please wait" is displayed but that´s all. No basic menu is loaded and on screen is still "Please wait". I find out that sometimes helps reconnecting Ethernet connection and shutting down Receptor and powering it up again. But sometimes doesn´t work also this.
Does anybody has the same experiences with functionality of Receptor Remote?

It seems like you are using just one cable between your PC and Receptor. If that's the case, you should set Receptor in Crossover mode in the TCP/IP screen on the front panel. If that's not the case, please describe your local area network configuration.

Connect a crossover cable to both machines
Turn on both the Receptor and your laptop
After both machines are booted perform the following operations.

1. On the Receptor press the "SETUP" button and turn the top display knob to "TCP/IP Setup"
2. Turn the bottom display knob to "Crossover" and press the bottom display knob. A message will say "Are You Sure", turn

the bottom display knob to "Yes" and press the bottom display knob. The "TCP/IP" on the Front Panel should now say

"Crossover"
3. Turn the top display knob to "TCP/IP Address", you should see 192.168.254.253. NOTE: If you do not see this address

most likely your laptop has not been enabled for "TCP/IP."
4. Double click the Receptor power button so it shuts down.
5. Turn the Receptor back on; this will restart the Ethernet services.
6. After Receptor is booted go back to the "TCP/IP" address, it should still show "192.168.254.253.
7. Start Internet Explorer on your laptop and enter the following address: \\192.168.254.253 and press enter. You should

now see your Receptor hard drive.
8. If now you do not see the Receptor hard drive then you need to renew your laptop "TCP/IP" address. From you laptop go

to "Start > Run and type "command" and click OK. From the DOS prompt type this string and press enter: ipconfig /renew
9. You should now see "192.168.254.253" as an "IP" address. Now try step 7 again.

Thanks Rick for really detailed description of the Crossover setting. Now it works better than with "Auto" mode. Both in Receptor Remote and also mounting through Windows Commander. Also TCP/IP address is set after each powering up the Receptor and it can not be changed ! Thanks
