is there any way i can split incoming midi so that i can direct diferent channels to diferent tracks.
i know i can use racks to split the midi across tracks. that still doesnt let me control a synth on channel 3 at the same time as a synth on channel 4 playing different notes.
yes i am using my mpc as my seqencer and my computer as a sound module.
help ?
midi channels to different tracks ?

You can control multiple synths on multiple midi channels using a rack filter and MIDI Channel Filter from NiallM's ndcMIDI Pack.
Use a rack filter to split the MIDI to as many tracks as you need (one per synth). Then place a MIDI Channel Filter after every instance of the rack, with each filter allowing only a single channel on each track. Then put your synths after the MIDI Channel Filter.
Unfortunately, while you can play multiple synths with this method, you can't record multiple MIDI channels through the same interface on multiple tracks. This is a total drag for those of us who use an external sequencer. You can work around this limit a bit by using MIDI Yoke to create virtual MIDI inputs, but still you can only do this with 8 MIDI channels.
Independent inputs for each MIDI channel would be a good feature request.
