OK maybe. But I do need a real amp. Something has to project the sound, right - Besides I don't have a laptop and even if I did what would I play through? The PA system? It's simple. I prefer a real amp to any fake one. (Hey I come the image doesn't copy?)Beardedone wrote:
The money is not as relevant as the sound to me. An amp I can play live with little fear of it crashing. Recently I played some Amps in the $1000K range that really do it for me and justify their value far more than what I heard with AT1. Though to be fair I don't need a ton of weird sounds - chorus, flanging, big distortion.
or this for the same cash, WITH foot controler...
Amplitube 2 Jimi Hendrix RELEASED this month!!!

Here is the first thing that popped in my mind:
"Oh No! We don't want fake SILICONE we want real TUBES!"

Right on! Fake imitation and very un-PC! Disgusting! Supermodel schmooper model - to be avoided in other words. I prefer women who are real.

I can't imagine anyone NOT buying it just because of the chick. I think shes great and enjoy hitting the IK front page. Nothing PC about it, thats for sure and I'd be willing to bet the major demographic for most of all VSTs out there wouldn't care one bit.

Come on! It's elemental Silicon that transistors are made of (not the same as tubes btw). Breast implants are made of silicone gel!

Let me ask you guys with the tit problem... do you drink Coke? Do you wear Nike? Do you buy Snickers? Do you buy Skittles? Do you buy Pampers diapers?
C'mon guys! For fucksakes, EVERY SINGLE COMPANY ON THE PLANET USES SOME GODAMN STEREOTYPE TO SELL THEIR SHIT PRODUCT!
That is a fact! Turn on the tv, you'll see some coke addict eating a snickers bar telling you how good it is for a sugar rush. Open up a guitar magazine, you'll see Zack Wilde shredding like a demon.
"Wow! I could be like Zack Wilde? OMG LOLZ"
C'mon, it's sooooo simple you don't even need xoxos for it. Fritz man, you have a problem, what can I say
Sure, the Amplitube advert is tasteless as shit. So is every Budweiser advert on TV. So is every advert for Nike trainers - footballers falling to their DEATHS just to sell some f**king leather!!
But you know what. That is life. Wankers will always try to sell you something. IK are no different. They're out to make money. But they already have mine, because their product is something I would like, tits on toast or NOT!
Hink, you think it's mature to be offended by some idiotic stereotype? Man, if that's below your level, then get over it. Forget about it.
I'm secure enough in my freethought to know that the blonde with the axe had f**k all to do with my decision to buy the amp, but hey, if you guys don't wanna buy software because of some wanker-in-a-suit's idea of advertising... pfft.. hey, that's your loss.

That makes you one in a million B1
It's the same everywhere you look... some suited-up guy takes something special and inventive and rapes it of all its worth. Scumbags.

yes but not all items are bought because of advertisement...we do buy things we like as well. I mean if I go into the local music store no chick in a thong is gonna show me the guitar...with software we buy what we've demo-ed...I drink way too much pepsi, but not because of advertising...any idea how mant pepsi generations ther have been in my life? That's quite different though init? I mean tbh I see gear first, girl second, then I wonder why the girl...4 super models could be naked playing on stage and the next day I'd be able to tell you more about the gear then how the girls looked...but that's just me
besides at my age I'm realistic, aint no 20 something hotties gonna get tween the sheets with me anyhow...

I dunno, people are sheep in many respects. You'd hate to think it, but you (and consequently me also) probably have bought something in the past purely on advertising. Shit man, I'm sitting here with a bottle of sunny-D .. I didn't even need it, I had orange juice in my cupboard already, but it was buy one get one free, I was there at the time, it all just clicked
But I probably only bought them because it was "bogof".
I'm not sure how relevant to amplitube that is, but I look at it like this: You can easily close your eyes when viewing that preview on the website, which is an ability you don't usually get when confronting marketing and advertising.

btw andrew, I do not recall saying I was offended, which means you missed my point...I think the company must not think that much of me by thinking it will work. No offense taken because their wrong, but I don't take it kindly. Just like when a salesman tries to pull one over on yah and you say something like "c'mon give me a little more credit then that" You're not taking offense, but you are letting him know that you know what's what...I'll tell yah what, I'd rather they not pay the t&a and lower the price....

well keep in mind there is no right answer...of course most things are sold by advertising...but does Gibson really need to do much advertising?Andrew Vernon wrote:I dunno, people are sheep in many respects. FWIW (and by now everyone should know this) I much prefer funny ads over sexy ads....
