Anyone read the blurb about Tracktion in the October Computer Music mag?
They're basically doing quick overviews of "Beginner's" music making software.
".... it's a favorite among beginners ..."
To be fair, they do say it's an excellent sequencer and they do show that they gave T2 a 10 rating the issue several months ago.
IMHO, They should have clarified more that it hangs with the big boys rather than implying (through the context of the title compared apps) that it's best for starting out and that you'd eventually upgrade to more "pro" software.
Of course I could be reading too much into it. heh

CM is all about "beginners". They realize that interest in the magazine tapers off sharply among readers who stop being neophytes.

I wish they would stop putting good stuff on the cover dvd so that I can stop buying it already. I hate that magazine but the damn dvd's keep me coming back. Grrrr...

I know. I find myself not reading much of the magazine. Their "breaking news" isn't so breaking when the mag comes out a month late here in the states.
However, the samples have gotten so much better with the DVD, and for the price, it's a steal if you think of how much a sample CD costs.

It's favorite among beginners, but I don't see the point. It does not mean it's not a professionnal tool.
