Yes sort of took a dive when Trevor Rabin left. He brought both new credibility and plenty of cheese.. Big Generator was something of a disappointment, and Talk offered very little. They must have done, what, 6 albums since then tho' and really should be calling it a day...

I think Jimi Hendrix is offering new these days, which I'm rather put out about..

Just make the music that you enjoy (failing that go for a walk, watch some porn, have a fight with a random bloke until something else happens).

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES
used to be my favourite band, now :(
I hate all the stuff without rocky george,
the worlds most underrated guita player...
I hate the funky riffs, and the funkin wah wah sound
of that new guitar player
it makes me want to  and puke

IMHO, of course... :hihi:
:x
What about Dead Skin Mask?
War Ensemble?
Mandatory Suicide?
:x

While Reign in Blood was impossible to actually top (Hell, it's hard for ANYONE in the genre to top that masterpiece!) they continued to put out consistently good stuff until after Seasons in the Abyss. Hell, even Divine Intervention had some nice stuff on it...
OK. Them's good tracks an'all, but not a patch on anything from RiB... :uhuhuh: :)

NO WAY!!!
House of the mole is the shit...at least the first half is...the production is crap(maybe it's just the mastering)but the songs are the best since psalm 69!! I even thought animositismoslidhgosdhg(whatever its called) was pretty good. I wish they would get more into their "land of rape and honey" stuff...i havent' heard a damn synth since that album!

When I first heard her stuff (from the first single), I was blow away
However, I was an angst-ridden hormonal boy and the type of music she was doing then (Dry, Rid of Me) really spoke to me (somehow!!). I identified quite a lot with her and her troubles at the time.

Since she has become a solo artist (i.e her band is not called PJ Harvey as it was at the start) I dont get the same thrill from her albums.
You could look at it from the other side, in that she's grown and changed herself. I've got all her albums, and it seems she has simply matured and moved on. She probably doesn't want to keep putting out the same albums she did ten plus years ago. And I think she's still the same artist.

Rod Stewart, on the other hand, is a lost cause. His first three albums were fantastically real English rock, but around the time of Hot Legs he was heading in a direction that many had gone before. Now look at him. Despite the soon-to-be-wife half his age, he's completely given up on his roots. Whatever else you might say about Mick Jagger, he's still doing it, and he's older than Rod by a few years.

I have all her albums, all her demos, some live bootlegs, all the singles and most of her appearances on other people's albums (nick cave, moonshake, family cat, grape, spleen, etc)

Morrissey. For me, everything from The Smiths is exceptional. And every Morrissey album up until You Are the Quarry is amazing (especially the less highly rated ones like Uncle and Southpaw).

Quarry never even grew on me. It had some great success with critics and in the stores, but it's my least played Morressey/Smiths CD. I can only hope that the man is not "past it" and that the next CD won't have lyrics like "You know where you can shove your hamburger" (although, even that line is pretty funny, especially when you think of how he sings it). Oh, and please, we need a producer who won't use thin, cheesy synths.

I saw Yes not long ago and I was quite surprised, because they played as if it was 1978. My favorite thing was seeing Steve play his Danelectro Coral Sitar on Close to the Edge.
