jens - care to explain how you get ext to actually look like that/post a completed song file for users to pick apart? honestly, generally i consider the prospect of midi sequencing in ext to be some cruel joke.jens wrote:
coming from hosts like cubase, logic, attempting to midi sequence in ext is utterly unfathomable.. "okay, there's a note.. i can't change the length w/o snapping, can't find anything like your arrange window.." it's completely mysterious to me. the manuals are a well-meant offering, but really don't explain how to accomplish the task.
cubasis inwire = ~anyone can pick it up and use it to create song structures and patch sounds with vst simply after watching anyone else use any sequencer for 5 minutes.. very sad that basic traktion/inwire et c. aren't available; a simple, non-modular sequencer of this nature should be, public service.. i don't think there is one "that works like that.."

eXT is wonderful for normal sequencing tasksxoxos wrote: jens - care to explain how you get ext to actually look like that/post a completed song file for users to pick apart? honestly, generally i consider the prospect of midi sequencing in ext to be some cruel joke.
I have planned to provide a basic sequencing-tutorial for some time now (it's only that I am so lazy
- but you could help me by asking specific questions (via pm if you prefer)

pressing 'x' will turn the snapping offxoxos wrote: I can't change the length w/o snapping,
- top left corner -> click on '...' right beside 'open' -> 'new' -> 'sequencer'can't find anything like your arrange window..
- set up every as you like it and then -> '...' right beside 'save' -> set as default
- this default-file (named default.EXT)is located in the same folder as your energyXT standalone application (standalone.exe) -> double click on it -> 'open with...' (or something similar) -> open it with 'standalone.exe' and tick 'always open with the same application'
- put a shortcut to default.EXT either on your desktop or your quickstart-panel (or both) just as you prefer.
- whenever you now double-click on this shortcut eXT will open as a conventional sequencer.
hope this helps...
P.s.: here you'll find some nice icons for your shortcut:

Funny, when I read the title "free host" I immediately thought of energy XT too. It's not free, as such, but relatively speaking it is... I mean considering what you actually get for your fifty bucks it's so amazing value for money that it might as well be considered free... sort of...
If you are used to cubase, it might not be as easy, but that is just a matter of habit. I recently had to try and figure out midi routing between plugins in cubase, and being used to modular hosts it took me half a day to figure out that cubase treats plugins with midi input / output as midi devices. I went on for a bit cursing cubase for this until I realized that it was just a matter of terminology.
Consider the fact that Jorgen himself doesn't need to advertise his product - the users are so grateful that they do this for him

Did the price raise? i thought it was 43 bucks?MattmaN wrote:$50
Pretty good considering it's as capable as software costing 20 times that cost.
